You need to make sure you have good content for it to work, but this is something you should be doing no matter the size of your business. While SEO isn’t dead, it revolves around content these days and you need to make sure you follow good examples.

Here’s a look at some specific examples of big brands that are hitting it out of the park with content marketing campaigns big and small.


  • Coke – You wouldn’t think a big brand like Coca Cola would need to market with content, but they totally understand the need for well written copy in the modern world. All you need to do is take a look at their  Content 2020 advertising strategy to see that they “get it.”

  • Kraft – This company was hip to content marketing before the term was even invented. This goes to show that it’s really all about good marketing practices in general. They offer recipes and more on their websites – something that attracts a lot of people.

  • General Electric – This is one of the biggest brands in the entire world, but they still know it’s all about making people happy. To do this, they launched  Ecomagination, which is an online forum that looks for innovative ideas from everyday people.

  • General Mills – This is another company that works with food that knows the importance of content marketing. That’s why they launched the website that’s packed full of exciting and healthy recipes for people all over the world.

  • Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts – This brand won an award in 2013 and will likely win many more in 2014 and beyond because they really seem to understand how and why content marketing works.

  • Veterans United Home Loans – While you may not consider this a big brand name, they’re working on changing that. They launched a website in 2013 that won awards because it was so full of great content. They’re definitely a brand to watch in 2014 and beyond as they expand.


The examples above clearly show that content marketing works and works well when implemented correctly. The most important thing is to find a good writer and make sure they stay happy. Without a writer, you’re not going to be able to produce content that wins awards. A lot of writers exist, but if you find a good one make sure you hang onto them at all costs.
